175/09 Apologies

176/09 Planning applications registered at TDBC
48/09/0046/HR Mrs H Pulsford Notification under the Electronic Communication Code regulation 2003 to utilise permitted development rights. Proposal: reduction of height of planting between Hollywood Bowl and dual carriageway (A358) at Heron Gate, Taunton. Likely issues – none listed. Comment: the trees should be kept, only the hedgerow should be cut in the manner specified; this will be make the main approach to Taunton look much tidier.
48/09/0047 Mr D Addicott Erection of two storey rear extension and single storey porch extension at Sunningdale, Monkton Heathfield. Likeley issues – will need to assess whether size of extension subservient to main dwelling. Comment: this application represents an attractive improvement to this property, but it is at risk of overdeveloping the plot.
48/09/0048 Miss K Purchase Erection of timber decking area to front of conservatory at Peveril, Gotton. Likely issues – no observations at present. Comment: the Council has no objection to this application.
48/09/0049 Miss K Purchase Erection of two storey side extension to front and rear, two dormer windows to front elevation, and porch with raising of roof to create first floor at Hawks View, West Monkton. Likely issues – consider impact on surrounding area. Comment: the trees on the site should be retained; the dwelling will be visible from the road so materials used must be suitably specified; whilst the dwelling may not be in the Conservation area of West Monkton, it is certainly adjacent to it so the dwelling needs to be sympathetic to this; the location of the dwelling may not be overlooking its neighbours but it could be very noticeable and possibly overpowering.

48/09/0034 Erection of single storey extension and first floor balcony at 41 Greenway, Monkton Heathfield. Permission granted: no harm to visual or residential amenity nor damage to character of main dwelling, therefore no conflict with TD LPPs S1 (general), S2 (design), H17 (extensions). Conditions: begin w/in 3 years; samples of materials to be used to be approved by Local Authority.
48/09/0038 Demolition of bungalow and garage and erection of two storey dwelling and detached garage and widening of existing access at Tarry A While, Gotton Lane, West Monkton. Permission granted: no detrimental impact on visual or residential amenity therefore no conflict with TD LPPs S1 (general), S2 (design), H8 (replacement dwellings outside settlements). Conditions: begin w/in 3 years; use materials specified in application; submit plan showing trees of stem diameter 100mm indicating which to be retained and which removed and detail vigour age and spread; retained trees for 5 years; avoid harm to root systems by no dug trenches within canopy of existing tree; new hedge on boundary of site to be approved before works commence; ditto landscaping scheme; ditto boundary treatments; vehicular access and turning area to be complete before occupation; garage only for domestic and private use.

Having been previously circulated, it was resolved to make the payments listed, proposed by Cllr Ellis, seconded by Cllr Besley and all agreed.
